LAKEPORT ? The People Services, Inc. annual Chicken-Que and Auction is set for June 1 from 2 to 6 p.m. at the Lake County Fairgrounds.

The event raises funds to assist in maintaining the programs and services provided by People Services, Inc. for the developmentally disabled living in Lake County.

The event will include music from the LC Diamonds, a silent auction with items donated by county businesses, client artwork for sale and a showcase of fashion designs by client designer Michael Bergeron.

Some of the items available for bidding are a $100 gift certificate from Animal Hospital of Lake County; $150 gift certificate from Cool Ghoul Tattoo Parlor; a $150 gift card from Kelseyville Lumber; wine and wine tasting from Langtry Estate and Vineyards; and a six-pack of select wines from Shannon Ridge Vineyards and Winery.

Also on June 1, people may bring their Chicken-Que ticket to the People Services, Inc. Thrift Store at 395 N. Main St. in Lakeport and receive 50 percent off their total clothing purchase. The store will be open from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

The event is family-friendly with a barbecued dinner of chicken, hamburgers or hot dogs. Vegetarian selections will also be offered. Tickets cost $7 per person or four tickets may be purchased for $25. Tickets include a chance to win a donated annual membership to the Sutter Lakeside Wellness Center.

Any business, club or person wishing to sponsor the event is welcome.
