LAKEPORT — A 33-year-old Lakeport man faces charges that include threatening an officer, possession of a concealed weapon and resisting arrest after an alleged altercation with Lakeport Police officers on Monday.
Markaus Lumley Vining was taken into custody and transported to the Lake County Hill Road Correctional Facility, where he remained early Wednesday. Bail was set for $45,000.
Vining was lying on a driveway in the 3000 block of Lakeshore Boulevard Monday at 1:15 p.m. when police approached him and noticed erratic behavior, which led police to suspect that he was under the influence of alcohol and drugs, according to Lt. Ferguson of the Lakeport Police Department.
When officers learned that Vining had an outstanding warrant for his arrest and tried to apprehend him, Vining resisted the officers, trying to bite and kick them and threatening to “kill” them during the struggle, Ferguson stated.
