SACRAMENTO — On Friday, Congressman John Garamendi (D-Fairfield) will host a town hall in Yuba City and another town hall in Davis.
At the town halls, service providers from selected government agencies and nonprofits have been invited to advise seniors on services available to them. The Congressman”s constituent caseworkers will also be available for 3rd District residents who have unresolved issues with federal agencies like Social Security, Medicare, veterans” benefits, immigration, and the IRS.
Garamendi”s opening remarks will be geared toward issues for seniors, including an update on proposals in Washington to change Social Security and Medicare, but all residents of the 3rd Congressional District are invited to join and ask the Congressman anything.
It is an open question and answer format. Light refreshments will be available at all events.
By the end of the month, Garamendi will have hosted eight town halls in 2013. In March, he hosted town halls in Clearlake Oaks, Marysville, Orland, and Woodland, and thus far in May, he has hosted town halls in Rio Vista and Vacaville.
The Yuba City Town Hall will take place from noon to 2 p.m. at the Yuba City Senior Center located at 777 Ainsley Ave.
The Davis Town Hall will take place from 5 to 6:30 p.m. at the Davis Senior Center located at 646 A St.
