CLEARLAKE — City police continue to search for a Clearlake Park man they consider to be a “person of interest” in a stabbing Thursday afternoon.
Randy Beebe, 56, had not been located as of midmorning Friday, Clearlake Police Chief Craig Clausen said.
Authorities allege an altercation at Beebe”s Arrowhead Road home resulted in Clearlake resident Donald Woita being stabbed in the chest.
Police officers found Woita injured about 300 yards away on 10th Street in Clearlake Park around 4:30 p.m. Thursday after responding to a report of a potential stabbing victim, Sgt. Nick Bennett stated.
Woita, 27, received medical treatment at the scene before being airlifted by REACH to Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital, according to Bennett. Officers learned around 9:30 p.m. Thursday that Woita was released from the hospital.
While investigating the case, detectives contacted a witness who said Woita was involved in a fight at a home on the 13000 block of Arrowhead Road, Bennett stated. Investigators soon learned Beebe lived at that residence, the sergeant added.
Detectives developed additional information that led to Beebe being deemed a “person of interest” in the investigation, according to Bennett.
Anyone with information about the incident or otherwise related to the case should contact Clearlake Police Det. Ryan Peterson at 994-8251, ext. 320.
