LAKE COUNTY — Firefighters are battling three small fires caused by morning lightning in Lake County Monday, according to CAL FIRE.

One fire is on New Long Valley Road north of Clearlake Oaks, another is on Elk Mountain Road north of Upper Lake and the final is on Clover Valley Road northeast of Upper Lake.

Each of the three fires measured less than one acre, according to CAL FIRE. The trio are among 22 small, lightning-ignited fires the CAL FIRE Sonoma-Lake-Napa Unit is working to contain after intense thunderstorms early Monday morning.

Thirteen of the incidents are in Sonoma County, with nine fires off Highway 128 near Geyserville or Knights Valley, two northeast of Windsor, one west of Calistoga and one northwest of Cazadero.

Four fires are occurring in Solano County — all near Vacaville — and two are west of Williams in Colusa County.

The blazes remained active as of 11 a.m. Monday, according to CAL FIRE.
