CLEARLAKE – A man was arrested and charged with multiple accounts including drug possession and distribution on June 25.

Eric Lee Nevarez, of Finley, was allegedly in possession of about 150 grams of methamphetamine, valued at approximately $14,250 and nearly 2 pounds of marijuana, Lake County Sheriff”s Office (LCSO) Lt. Steve Brooks stated.

At about 6:30 p.m., Narcotics detectives conducted a vehicle stop for unspecified reasons in the area of Highway 53 and 18th Avenue in Clearlake of a car in which Nevarez was a passenger with other people, according to Brooks.

Detectives knew from previous contact with Nevarez, 36, that he was on felony probation with a search clause and proceeded to search him, Brooks stated.

During the search, detectives allegedly found the narcotics, authorities stated.

Nevarez was charged with transporting a controlled substance, possession of marijuana for sale, sales of marijuana and possession of controlled substance paraphernalia, Brooks stated. Nevarez was booked at the Lake County Hill Road Facility.
