CLEARLAKE — The Lakeshore Lions Club of Clearlake sponsored the 56th Annual Redbud Parade. It started at Redbud Park and proceeded down Lakeshore Drive. The parade theme was “Fun in the Sun.”
Best overall entry went to the Clearlake Girl Scout troop No. 10433, first runner-up was the American Legion Junior and Women”s Auxiliary, second runner-up was the Sons of the American Legion, and third runner-up was the Pearl Harbor Survivors. The Pearl Harbor Survivors also received the award for the Most Patriotic.
The American Legion Junior and Women”s Auxiliary took first place in the Fraternal Floats or Service Clubs section followed by the Lakeshore Lioness in second and the Veterans of Foreign Wars in third.
United Home Care represented the Commercial Float section. Josh Wade represented the Street Rod section.
Lake County Fire Protection District and Clearlake Police Department were also in the parade.
Non-commercial float winners were the Clearlake Girl Scout troop No. 10433 followed by Boat Loads of Fun in second.
Curtis Epps took first place in the Antique cars pre-1940 division with Lake County A”s in second.
In the Classic cars division, first place went to Franz Remfeld, second place to Leo Parodi and third place to Bonnie Epps.
Top finishers in the unusual car, electric and steam division were Cliff Bush, R.J. Tucker and Pamela Pope.
Boys Scout Troop 44 won the Marching Group with Cub Scout Pack 144 in second and Lake County Special Olympics in third.
The Fun Things section winner was Punisher Wrestling. Dan and Cindy Pearson took home second with Seth House was third.
The Equestrian Grand Sweepstakes had a tie between Mary Ann Reece and Connie Hawkins. Mary Ann Reece also won first in the Arabian Costume section. Lonnie Sloan won the Novelty Costume section.
Karly Petta was the winner for Junior Rider and Miniature Horse Drawn was won by Connie Hawkins. Ray and Emily Mayo won first in the Matched Pair section.
