LUCERNE — Lake County Sheriff”s Office investigators are looking for a 25-year-old Lucerne man who, according to witnesses, stabbed another Lucerne resident Thursday night.
The unidentified stabbing victim told police that Juan Carlos Lopez of Lucerne stabbed him on the left side after he tried to break up an altercation between Lopez and a female, according to Lt. Steve Brooks of the Lake County Sheriff”s Office.
Authorities allege Lopez then ran from the scene and the victim was transported by air ambulance to U.C. Davis Medical Center. Listed in critical condition at the time, the victim has since been released from the hospital and is expected to make a full recovery.
The sheriff”s major crime unit continued the investigation and contacted several witnesses who sheriff”s department personnel say positively identified Lopez as the person responsible for the stabbing.
