Bail set for $35,000 following Lower Lake car chase

LAKEPORT — The 25-year-old Clearlake woman who allegedly led police on a high-speed chase through Lower Lake before crashing her car into a tree near the cemetery remained in custody Wednesday at the Lake County Hill Road Correctional Facility.

Bail was set for $35,000 for Heather Fawn Kimbrough, who authorities say sped away from the Tower Mart gas station in Lower Lake on Tuesday afternoon after being approached by a Clearlake police officer who recognized the passenger in the vehicle as a “parolee-at-large.”

Also remaining in custody Wednesday was David Edward Row, 30, of Clearlake, the man Lt. Travis Lenz identified and approached before Kimbrough drove off, according to Clearlake Police Lt. Tim Celli.

Kimbrough”s black Ford Explorer reached speeds exceeding 100 mph on Lake Street, passing Lower Lake High School and the Lower Lake Cemetery before spinning out and crashing into a tree, according to Celli.

The car caught on fire and the Lake County Fire Protection District was called to the scene to help police officers extinguish the flames. Row and Kimbrough suffered minor injuries.

Row was booked on parole violation charges and Kimbrough on a felony evasion charge and driving with a suspended license.

Celli said Kimbrough told police she evaded law enforcement in the same vehicle a couple of weeks ago.
