LAKEPORT — The Lake County Chapter of California Women for Agriculture (LCCWA) would like to remind motorists that harvest season has begun.

There will be slow-moving farm vehicles and equipment, large truck and trailer haulers and general road congestion.

“Our county is known internationally for our award-winning pears, wine grapes, and walnuts. Those of us involved in agriculture ask for your patience and understanding during this critical, busy time,” Claudia Street, Farm Bureau executive director and LCCWA recording secretary said.

The LCCWA educates members and the public about matters concerning agriculture on both the county and state levels. The LCCWA sponsors AgVenture, an educational program for community leaders who wish to learn more about agriculture. To learn more about the LCCWA, visit its website at www.lakecountycwa.org.
