LAKEPORT — Racing action resumes this weekend at the Lakeport Speedway and Delbert”s Memorial Raceway. The mini stocks, jammers, outlaws, bandoleros, legend cars and boat races are Saturday, with gates opening at 3:30 and racing beginning at 5. The boat racing will be held last.
The go-karts return on Sunday at Delbert”s Memorial Raceway, with gates opening at 10 a.m. and the racing starting about 1 p.m.
In races last weekend, Tyler Shipley held off challenges from Audrey Portlock and Kendra Land to win the go-kart main event on July 12 to kick-off three days of racing at the Ukiah Speedway.
Daniel Whitley took advantage of a restart to post a victory over second-place Kaiden Butler in the beginner box stock division, and Colby Furia jumped to an early lead and held off several challengers to win the 250 division.
Marrisa Polliza came on strong to defeat early leaders Matt Black and Tes Mellor to win the 500 division.
The racing went from the dirt to the asphalt the following night with Mike Collins winning the Taco Bell bomber division over Bob Mook and Tim Buzzard, and Dylan Washburn working his way up from the back of the pack to win the bandolero division event, with Frank Pickrell finishing second.
Roy Ingalls Jr. won the jr. jammer main event as well as the overall title, with the pro jammer victory going to Jason Hunter.
The action returned to the small dirt track on Sunday with Armando Miranda winning the main event in the 230 premier division, Brian Bartlow finishing first in the open DTX division, and Gary Durbin winning the vintage open race./
Mark Topping won the vintage light event and Michael Manning finished first in the formula 125/250 event.
In the kids” races, Nolan Miller won the 50cc event and Dustin Shumale took the 65/125 event, with Brian Bartlow winning the senior division and Rick Kerrigan the vet mini division.
