LAKEPORT — The Rural Jazz Project will perform Sunday during Lake County Live!
The monthly talent showcase at the Soper Reese Community Theatre, located at 275 S. Main St. in Lakeport, begins at 6 p.m.
The Rural Jazz Project features Tom Aiken on keyboard and Steve DuBois on drums, along with Rick LeVasseur on bass and the talents of Dave Borjon. Saxophone player Jim Leonardis will also join the group.
Other performers include Ladies of the Lake and the Dogs of Clearlake.
“Every month, we ask our performers and audience to give their support to local artists and musicians, and every month they continue to amaze and entertain us,” show creator and host Doug Rhoades said. “I think there is an unending well of talent here in Lake County, and our program is designed to showcase that talent and provide
a venue to promote it.”
Joining Rhoades and the musical performers will be Richard Smith, Pam Bradley, Vicky Parish Smith and Kris Andre, along with show announcer Mitchell Hauptman.
“The show started as a wild idea, and that dream has continued for over a year and a half. July marks our 19th performance, and we as a group are so grateful to our receptive audience, who continues to enjoy each performance,” Rhoades said.
Tickets for performance are available at the box office, at soperreesetheatre.com and at the Travel Center, located at 1265 South Main St. in Lakeport.
The show is also broadcast live on Lake County Community Radio, KPFZ at 88.1 FM, as well as streamed live on the Internet at kpfz.org.
A rebroadcast of the show can be heard on the Saturday following the live show at 7 a.m. on KPFZ 88.1 FM.
