LAKE COUNTY — Registered voters in Lake County interested in running for a school board position have until Aug. 9 at 5 p.m. to file for candidacy for the Nov. 5 election.
There are 16 seats open to Lake County residents on elementary school, high school and college boards, along with an opening on the Lake County Board of Education.
Two trustee positions (in areas 5 and 6) are up for grabs in the Mendocino-Lake Community College District.
Three seats are opening up on the Lake County Board of Education in trustee areas No. 3, 4 and 5.
Three school districts — Kelseyville Unified, Lakeport Unified and Lucerne Elementary — have two openings to fill in November.
Both the Upper Lake Union High School and Elementary School districts have three seats that are open.
