MENDOCINO — The Redwood Forest Foundation, Inc. (RFFI) must raise $5,000 by Sept. 10 in order to match a challenge grant from board and staff members.
The organization purchased and conserved the 50,000-acre Usal Redwood Forest, a landscape that is more than 1.5 times the size of San Francisco, according to Lin Morgan Barrett of RFFI.
Organization members have also developed a forest stewardship plan in Mendocino and Humboldt counties.
The RFFI is halfway to its goal, with $2,800 in donations, Barrett stated.
To donate, visit www.rffi.org/Donate.html or send a check to P.O. Box 12 Mendocino, CA 95460.
