LAKE COUNTY — Lake County law enforcement agencies Friday evening continued their search for a 54-year-old Kelseyville man who allegedly sprayed a woman with flammable liquid and set her on fire before eluding police, according to authorities.

Kevin Ray Parker, who allegedly led authorities on a high-speed chase on Highway 29 and onto a dirt road, where he abandoned his motorcycle and escaped on foot, is considered armed and dangerous, according to Lt. Steve Brooks of the Lake County Sheriff”s Office (LCSO).

Anyone who sees Parker is advised to call 9-1-1.

LCSO deputies, responding to a 9-1-1 call at 6:25 a.m. Friday, arrived at the 6300 block of Soda Bay Road in Kelseyville, where an unidentified woman told them that Parker had assaulted her and set her on fire, Brooks stated in a news release.

The woman told authorities that when she screamed in pain, Parker extinguished the fire and then told her he would kill her later, according to Brooks, who stated that some of the alleged victim”s hair had been burned and that the house smelled of burnt hair and lighter fluid.

Brooks said that the woman had what appeared to be burns on the side of her neck, and that deputies found additional evidence that supported the woman”s statement.

Deputies requested that central dispatch put out a description of Parker, his motorcycle and the possibility he may be armed to surrounding law enforcement agencies.

A motorcyclist believed to be Parker was spotted by a Lakeport Police officer, who tried to stop him, and then pursued him through downtown Kelseyville and onto Highway 29, where the motorcyclist headed south at a high rate of speed, according to Brooks,

The motorcyclist turned onto a dirt road on the 7700 block of Highway 29 near Red Hills Road, abandoned his motorcycle and was able to escape, Brooks stated.
