Achieving a reasonable balance among all the parts of our busy lives is hard work.

We have to look at the facts clearly and honestly: Are we trying to figure it out, or are we just swinging that wet blanket and always putting out the nearest fire, hoping we have things under control?

In my own process of balancing marriage, family, health, business, recreation and community, I have to admit that often it is a frustrating matter. We all want to do right by those we love ? and we all want to be healthy. And, when it comes to developing and maintaining our businesses and careers, we know the big demands on time and energy it takes to make it work well.

Our chamber offers ways to bring business and personal connections together. We like to include our families in chamber-sponsored activities. These are ways we can bridge that gap and share with them how we participate in our community organizations.

These occasions give us the chance to acquaint our families with more of our business associates.

Including time in our schedules for family boating, hiking and school events is good glue for the balancing act. It is especially significant when these activities are treated with equal importance throughout our planning.

There are many resources available within our chamber membership that can help any one of us in that search for a healthy balance. And in our beautiful county, there are many support elements right under our noses available for recreation, relaxation and natural appreciation.

Check out the chamber membership resources to help with achieving better balance in your life.
