LOWER LAKE — Lake Community Pride Foundation (LCFP) recently donated $1,000 to the Lower Lake High School (LLHS) Drama Department and $1,000 to the LLHS Music Program.
Through the support of the community for programs such as “An Evening With” concert series, produced and organized by LCPF member Keith Larson, LCPF supports the performing arts for the youth, a press release stated.
LLHS Drama Department will use the donation for sound equipment, update lighting equipment and upcoming drama productions. The music program donation will be used to purchase music for the jazz band, concert band, show choir, beginning band and the elementary bands, the release stated.
The LLHS Little Theater will host “An Evening With …Flashback,” on Saturday from 7 to 9 p.m. The theater is known for its acoustic sound, which creates an intimate sonic experience, according to the release.
Flashback is group whose roots started at an open mic. Eventually Moe Sampson, who plays a 12-string guitar, and Hilarie Wilt, who plays a 6-string guitar created their band. Both Sampson and Wilt sing vocals and harmonies for their songs. Flashback performs old and new Americana music.
“An Evening With” is presented by LCPF, who will donate the proceeds to support the Youth Performing Arts of Lake County. Tickets cost $10 and doors will open at 6:30 p.m.
