LUCERNE — There will be an open mic night at the Lucerne Alpine Senior Center (LASC), located at 3985 Country Club Drive, on Saturday from 6 to 9 p.m.

Starting in September, the event will be on the third Saturday of every month. The August event will feature the house band FOGG, sign-ups for the September band will be at 5 p.m. on Saturday, prior to the event, according to Rae Eby-Carl, executive director of the LASC.

Community members interested in music, comedy, mime, or any other activity that is family-oriented entertainment may showcase their talents. The event is free-of-charge, Eby-Carl stated.

For those who want to have dinner, spaghetti, salad, garlic bread and a beverage will be available. Dinner costs $7 per adult and $5 for children younger than 12. All proceeds from the meal will benefit the LASC, Eby-Carl stated.

The LASC also hosts a lunch of beverage, soup, salad, entr?e and dessert Monday through Friday. A $4 donation for seniors is requested. Reservations are not required. Meals-on-Wheels is also available by calling 274-8779.
