LAKE COUNTY — A recent graduate of Carl? High School in Lower Lake, Nura Brown is the recipient of the Frank Meisenbach Scholarship.

The East Lake Resource Conservation District (RCD) established the scholarship last year in memory of Frank Meisenbach, a longterm board member in the district, community leader and farmer.

Meisenbach had a passion for educating youth about the natural resources of Lake County.

Community members from throughout the county have stepped forward to fund the scholarship that will be awarded each year to students who have an interest in natural resources, agriculture, environmental sciences or a related field, according to Charlotte Griswold, president of the Board of Directors of the East Lake RCD.

Brown will use the funds to further her education at Yuba College this fall where she plans to pursue a course of study with an emphasis on water resources.

The scholarship presentation was made by Griswold, board member Victoria Brandon and Lois Meisenbach.
