KELSEYVILLE — The Clear Lake State Park Interpretive Association (CLSPIA) will continue its summer Nature Talk series with retired State Park Ranger Val Nixon on Saturday at 2 p.m.
Nixon is set to give a presentation on the “Big Cats of North America” in the CLSPIA outdoor nature and education pavilion, according to Brad Barnwell.
The presentation will focus on what makes a cat a cat, and the role of the jaguar, cougar, lynx, bobcat, ocelot, margay and jaguarundi in the web of life.
Harry Lyons, Ph.D., will give the last talk of the series on Aug. 31 at 2 p.m. in the visitor center. Lyons, a Lake County resident of 35 years and professor of biology and ecology at Yuba Community College, will give a presentation on the forces that formed Clear Lake and answer the question: “How did here get here?”
Entry to the park is free-of-charge for attendees. The park is located at 5300 Soda Bay Road in Kelseyville.
