UKIAH — The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) at Lake Mendocino has closed the North and South Boat Launch facilities, effective Tuesday. The southern beach area known as “Jet Ski Beach” is also now closed to vehicle traffic.
The closures are necessary to ensure visitor safety due to low water levels, USACE Park Manager Derrick Dunlap stated. Visitors with kayaks, canoes and other portable boats are welcome to carry their boats to the water.
