HIDDEN VALLEY LAKE — I do not understand why Sheriff Rivero is getting involved in investigations/pot raids. He has a capable team of investigators to handle these types of assignments.

A sheriff has more things to do in managing his department than being involved in an investigation. That is why he has a lieutenant or captain in charge of the detective bureau. In my time, every one of our stations in L.A. had a detective captain or lieutenant in charge. Never did we see the chief involved, all reports from the field went to the officer in charge (lieutenant or captain) and was filtered up to the chief of detectives. To me it seems as though, oh what is the word, oh yes, micromanaging.

Leave your investigators alone, let them do what they have been trained to do. That way we won”t lose cases in court.
