LAKEPORT — Five blocks of Main Street in downtown will be closed to make room for fine wines and food on Aug. 24 for the 17th annual Taste of Lakeport.
An expected 20 wineries will offer tastes of fine wines either produced in Lake County or made from grapes grown in the county, according to Kathy Windrem. Restaurateurs and caterers will provide bites to sample with the wines.
The tasting will run from 5 to 8 p.m. and a street dance with music by the LC Diamonds will follow until 10 p.m. All the tastings will be offered from booths in the middle of Main Street, Windrem stated. An antique car collection will be on view as well.
Tickets cost $30 in advance and $35 at the door, Windrem stated. They include all activities and a souvenir wine glass. A $15 ticket is available for food tasting only.

Main St. in Lakeport and at the Clearlake Chamber of Commerce, located at 3425 Bowers Road in Clearlake (cash or check only).
Proceeds from the Taste of Lakeport benefit the Lakeport Main Street Association (LMSA) and its work toward the continuing revitalization and renovation of downtown Lakeport, Windrem stated.
