UPPER LAKE — The sixth annual Cougar Classic cross country meet is scheduled for Sept. 7 at Upper Lake High School”s cross country course beginning at 8 a.m.

Upper Lake High School head coach John Woods encourages all local teams to take part. To enter simply drop an email at jwoods@ulhs.k12.ca.us and let Woods know approximately how many runners you are bringing.

The Cougar Classic features four races – JV girls, JV boys, varsity girls and varsity boys. Teams must fill varsity races with at least five runners before entering runners in JV races.

Upper Lake”s course measures 2.07 miles on flat and fast terrain – 60 percent grass, 30 percent dirt and 10 percent pavement.

The entry fee is $10 per runner or $100 per team (whichever is cheapest). The entry fee is payable on race day. A limited supply of meet T-shirts are available and cost $7. You can pre-order T-shirts.

The top 10 individuals and top two teams in each of the four races receive awards.
