KELSEYVILLE — Farm bureau and community members are encouraged to attend the Lake County Farm Bureau”s (LCFB) Sunday Morning Breakfast on Sept. 8.
Kelseyville Lion”s Club (KLC) will cook up a breakfast selection of pancakes, scrambled eggs and biscuits with gravy and sausage. Breakfast will be served from 8 to 11 a.m. and takeout will be available to those in the middle of harvest or to eat and run.
Proceeds from the breakfast will benefit the LCFB scholarship fund as well as farm-focused programs. In addition to breakfast, guests will have the opportunity to purchase raffle tickets for a drawing to win a half hog, according to Claudia Street, executive director.
The LCFB will purchase a hog at the upcoming Lake County Fair Junior Livestock Auction from a community 4-H or Future Farmer”s of America member. The winner of the drawing does not have to be present to win.
The breakfast will be held at the KLC, located at 4335 Sylar Lane in Kelseyville. Tickets cost $7 and can be purchased at the door or before the event at the LCFB office.
The LCFB strives to protect and promote farming and agricultural interests and to find solutions to challenges on the farm, at the ranch home and throughout the rural community, Street stated. Farm bureau is Lake County”s largest farm organization, representing more than 550 farm families and individual members.
