LOWER LAKE — Six Sigma Ranch and Winery of Lower Lake will give Pinzgauer tours, worth $125, free-of-charge to celebrate the harvest season in September and October. The tours will kick off on Labor Day weekend.

This is a way to connect with Lake County and enjoy a scenic tour of Six Sigma Ranch, according to Jacquelyn Farrington.

Guests will be welcomed in the historic Stage Coach House Tasting Room and will climb aboard the Six Sigma Ranch Pinzgauer for the rustic trip to the highest-elevation vineyard, Christian”s Diamond Mine Vineyard, Farrington stated. A guide will take guests to the far corners of the ranch, sharing vistas as far away as Lake Berryessa.

The guide will discuss the distinctive characteristics of Six Sigma Ranch and its wines. Guests are likely to see cattle, sheep and pigs and learn about the ranch”s meat program, Farrington stated.

The guide will also lead guests through the history of the ranch that dates back to the 1850s. The tour will conclude with a wine tasting of current releases of Six Sigma”s award-winning wines in the tasting room, accoring to Farrington. Guests are encouraged to bring a picnic lunch and eat under the shade of ancient oak trees.

Tours for Labor Day weekend will run Aug. 30 to Sept. 2. Future tours are limited to Saturdays only at 10 a.m., noon and 2 p.m. Reservations are required at least 24 hours in advance, Farrington stated.
