CLEARLAKE — Konocti Senior Support, Inc. (KSSI) recently hosted an appreciation party for the volunteers of Senior Peer Counseling.

The volunteers have supported seniors through one-on-one counseling relationships with the homebound, according to Pat Goodson, KSSI president. The volunteer”s support includes assistance with emotional problems, paperwork and relationships with other agencies. Each volunteer donated up to four hours per week, one to two hours with a client, one hour supervision and one hour of training, Goodson stated.

Members of the Adult Day Care Program at the First Lutheran Church were also invited to attend the party as guests.

Director and supervisor of the program, Kim Baughan-Young, leads the group and helps with training. She also provided the food for the party.

Lake County representative Sarah Deng presented pins to each volunteer with “Mental Health Services Act Lake County Behavioral Health” inscribed on them.

Entertainment for the party was provided by The Angel Lights and the Harmony Boys, who performed comedy skits, sang and danced.

KSSI is a nonprofit agency that provides programs for seniors. It is located at 14310 Memory Lane in Clearlake.
