LAKEPORT — The Lake County Winery Association (LCWA) will hold its People”s Choice Wine Awards at the Lake County Fair on Saturday.

Recently, a panel of wine experts from across the country blind-tasted and awarded medals to the top Lake County wines at the Lake County Wine Awards. As a follow-up, community members are invited to judge for themselves and select the “People”s Choice.”

“We were honored to have a distinguished panel of professional wine judges evaluate the wines of our distinct wine growing region, and we are excited to share those wines with our community and discover the People”s Choice,” Jacquelyn Farrington, event chair, stated.

More than 20 of Lake County”s top wines will be available to blind test and participants will cast their ballots to vote for their favorite, Heather Conlin, of the LCWA, stated. Live music and food will also be available.

Participating wineries include: Brassfield Estates, Ceago Vinegarden, Chacewater, Cougars Leap, Dalliance, Dusinberre Cellars, Gregory Graham, Langtry, Obsidian Ridge, Olof Cellars, Robledo Family Winery, Rosa d”Oro Vineyards, Six Sigma Ranch and Winery, Sol Rouge, Steele, Vigilance and Wildhurst Vineyards.

The People”s Choice Wine Awards event will run from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Lake County Fairgrounds, located at 401 Martin St. in Lakeport. Fair gates open at 11 a.m.

Tickets cost $45, which include entrance to the fair and the People”s Choice Wine Awards.
