LAKEPORT — An Arizona man had a bad trip when what is believed to be LSD was found in the stolen van he was reportedly found in Monday night.
At about 10:55 p.m., Lakeport Police Department (LPD) Officer Joe Eastham was patrolling South Main Street and saw a blue Dodge van suspiciously parked in the lot of a business in the 500 block, LPD Lt. Jason Ferguson stated. Eastham conducted a check of the van and allegedly found Jason Shane White, 42, of Phoenix, Ariz. lying in the back. Upon conducting a license plate check, Eastham found the van was reported stolen out of Phoenix, Ariz. and he detained White for further investigation.
During a search, Eastham allegedly found 10 grams of pot along with an Altoid Mint canister which contained 30 individual quarter-inch square perforated papers printed with psychedelic designs which he believed were laced with LSD, Ferguson stated.
Initially, White also allegedly gave the false name of Jason Melvin Jackson, he stated.
After determining White”s true identity, Eastham conducted a warrants check and discovered White had two outstanding warrants for his arrest for armed robbery out of Panama City, Fla., Ferguson stated. The warrants were confirmed and White was arrested and charged with possession of a stolen vehicle, possession of a controlled substance, providing false information to a peace officer and possession of less than an ounce of marijuana.
White was transported to the Lake County Hill Road Correctional Facility, where it was allegedly discovered that he was in possession of several hypodermic syringes and was additionally charged with possession of syringes and bringing contraband into a jail facility.
White was booked on a no-bail hold.
