CLHS sports fundraiser brings in $25,000
LAKEPORT — The third annual Cardinal Sports Night, a fundraiser for the Clear Lake High School Sports Foundation, raised a record $25,000 on Saturday at the Lake County Fairgrounds.
Nearly $10,000 of that total came from the silent auction, battle of the basket raffle and coaching competition, which boiled down to a tussle between varsity boys” basketball coach Scott De Leon, wrestling coach Aiden Pierson and new golf coach Juan Lopez. Lopez emerged victorious and received the perpetual plaque.
All event proceeds benefit the sports teams at Clear Lake High School.
The Lakeport Volunteer Fire Department provided dinner, trash service was handled by Lakeport Disposal, decorations were provided by Lake Event Design, the Rotary Club of Lakeport manned the bar, and the LC Diamonds provided the music.
The Foundation, formed in 2010, has raised more than $50,000 for CLHS sports.
