Sexual assault case
HIT: Brian Barrett Stasko, 22, was found guilty Friday of having unlawful sex with a minor. The charges stemmed from one of two nights in November of last year. He was found not guilty on his major charges, which included
aggravated sexual assault on a minor under 14 years old.
Marriage equality
HIT: Michelle Rush and Ann Furia will get married Sept. 21, just months after the Supreme Court ruled that California”s Proposition 8, which stated that only marriages between a man and a woman were valid, was
unconstitutional.
Fatal shooting
MISS: A shooting in Clearlake resulted in the death of one man and gunshot injuries to two more Sunday afternoon. A man identified as Joshua Robert Beavers was accused of being the shooter and three people were believed to have participated in the event.
HIT: The Clearlake Police Department arrested Beavers and three more people in connection to the shooting later that day. They were booked in the Lake County Hill Road Correctional Facility and arraigned Tuesday afternoon.
Crossbow killing
MISS: Phoenix Triton King, 20, and an unidentified 16-year-old girl, of Lake County, were arrested Monday in Humboldt after they were allegedly involved in an incident in which a 44-year-old man was shot in the face with a crossbow, causing his death, and another person was wounded.
Stabbing incident
MISS: A man identified by police as John Dalmolin allegedly stabbed two people in Clearlake Sunday after an altercation that stemmed from Dalmolin”s going to his ex-girlfriend”s residence. The injured men were transported to St. Helena Hospital, Clear Lake and subsequently to Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital. Dalmolin was booked at the Lake County Hill Road Correctional Facility.
Armed Robber Sentenced
HIT: Lonny Teter Jr. was sentenced to six years in a state prison after he pleaded guilty to robbery and assault with a firearm stemming from a robbery that occurred Feb. 21 in Lakeport. Teter reportedly said in court he committed the crimes because he was depressed and wanted police to shoot him.
Bad trip
MISS: A man identified as Jason Shane White, of Phoenix Ariz., was arrested in Lakeport while he was allegedly parked in a stolen car. While searching the vehicle, police found about 10 grams of marijuana and an Altoid Mint canister containing 30 perforated pieces of paper with psychedelic designs believed to be laced with LSD.
