LAKEPORT — A preliminary hearing was scheduled in the case of a former Lower Lake High School teacher accused of possessing child pornography Tuesday at the Lake County Superior Court.
Attorneys involved in the matter of Jeremy Duane Stock, who faces a felony count, met in court for an evidence discovery hearing. The date for the preliminary hearing was set for Nov. 14.
The defense recently received a disk containing information on the case and will be examining it before the next court date, defense attorney Stephen Gallenson said in court.
Deputy District Attorney Ed Borg said in court it was appropriate to allow the defense time to review the evidence.
A readiness review will take place Oct. 29, when it will become clear if the defense has finished its examination of the new evidence.
Court proceedings were previously delayed because of unopposed defense requests to have its own forensic examination of Stock”s computer.
Stock was arrested on Dec. 7 after investigators allegedly found child pornography in his home computer. The English instructor was on administrative leave at the time of his arrest.
