LAKE COUNTY — The Lake County Rocket Club is set to resume weekly meetings at Taylor Observatory in Kelseyville starting Thursday. The club meets from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. The club is free to any Lake County student in grades fourth through eighth, whether they attend public school, a charter or private school or are home-schooled.
Parents and other interested adults are always welcome to attend.
Last year, the club members learned about aerodynamic principles and basic laws of physics as they made various rockets. They had two successful launch dates.
Leader Bill Bordisso is now focused on students building increasingly more complex rockets. He also hopes to take the group on a field trip to the NASA facility in the Bay Area.
The pilot”s group, the Lake County Airmen”s Association, has invited the club to tour Lampson Field for an up close look at planes.
