KELSEYVILLE — A Lakeport man died from injuries sustained during a motorcycle crash Sunday afternoon on Bottle Rock Road, west of Spring Hill Road.
Louis Jennings, 51, was driving eastbound on a 2006 Yamaha motorcycle at about 5:40 p.m. and traveling roughly at 30 mph with two other motorcyclists when, for reasons still under investigation, he traveled off the north shoulder of Bottle Rock Road, according to California Highway Patrol Officer Matt Norton. Jennings then lost control of the motorcycle and drove over an embankment.
Jennings was ejected from the motorcycle and sustained major injuries, Norton stated. He was transported to St. Helena Hospital Clear Lake, where he was pronounced deceased.
Jennings was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash, according to Hobbs. Alcohol was not considered to be a factor.
The crash is under investigation.
