UPPER LAKE — Two men were arrested and methamphetamine was seized following a routine traffic stop according to Lake County Sheriff”s Office (LCSO) Lt. Steve Brooks.
Steven Lynn Simpson, 38, and Daniel Brian Dolan, 40, of Ukiah, were arrested.
The stop took place at Sunday 3:10 a.m., a deputy was on patrol in the Upper Lake area, Brooks stated in a press release. The deputy reportedly noticed several vehicle code violations and conducted an enforcement stop near the intersection of highways 20 and 29 in Upper Lake.
Central Dispatch conducted a records check on Simpson and Dolan and confirmed Simpson”s driver”s license was suspended and Dolan was on parole with a search and seizure clause. The vehicle”s registration was expired.
Brooks stated that during the search, a translucent crystalline substance believed to be methamphetamine and a clear glass straw or tube with white residue and burn marks, were found.
Simpson was arrested on charges of possession of a controlled substance, transportation of a controlled substance, possession of controlled substance paraphernalia and driving on a suspended license. Dolan was arrested on charges of violating conditions of parole and being under the influence of a controlled substance. The men were transported to the Lake County Hill Road Correctional Facility and booked.
