KELSEYVILLE — Nearly 90 pounds of marijuana were allegedly found in a man”s house after leading Lake County Sheriff officers on a high-speed chase last week.

Masud Michael Sekander, of Kelseyville, was charged with evading a peace officer, cultivation of marijuana, possession with intent to selland possession of ammunition by a prohibited person.

Sekander had allegedly been driving a black Mercedes on the evening of Oct. 3 more than 100 mph on Highway 53 near Dam Road when he passed two unmarked and one marked Lake County Sheriff”s Office (LCSO) cars, according to an LCSO report. The sheriff personnel pursued him but lost sight of him on Point Lakeview Road and Konocti Vista Drive. The pursuit lasted approximately eight miles.

On the afternoon of Oct. 4 sheriffs were informed of Sekander”s location and went to his house in Kelseyville, the report stated. A strong odor of marijuana was allegedly emanating and a search warrant was served.

The search allegedly resulted in 86 pounds of unprocessed marijuana and three pounds of processed marijuana. The black Mercedes from the pursuit the previous night was reportedly found in the garage as well with handgun ammunition inside, the report stated.

Sekander was booked at the Lake County Hill Road Correctional Facility.
