UPDATED:

Here we all are experiencing the beginning of the second week of the shut down of our government.

We all know by now that our system of government is just not working. It has not worked very well for years. It seems those members of Congress cannot agree on anything. They are all elected by hard-working people in this country who are hoping they would all put aside their personal feelings and make sure we, the voting public in this country, are well represented.

We also all know long it takes for Congress to approve anything, let alone raising the debt ceiling as needed and ensuring that essential governmental services are maintained. It normally takes months to get anything approved as there are many processes a spending bill has to pass before it is enacted.

How is it possible then for all the signs informing us of the closure of all our national parks, etc. to be up and posted the very next morning after the governmental shutdown commenced? How is it possible for these signs that are paid for by our governmental and paid for by a government that cannot agree on anything be posted less than 24 hours after the shutdown started?

It is very obvious to me that these signs were paid for about six or so months ago when our government knew there was going to be a total shutdown and decided on their own to shut down our government.

Our government obviously knew of this shut down last spring. Why then were we not informed of this decision by those we elected? Why were we all kept in the dark about this?

I am normally a very optimistic person who tries to see not only the good in our society, but those officials in it who are elected to make very important decisions on our behalf.

Maybe, just maybe, this just is not possible as too many of our elected officials have personal agendas, which precludes them from acting intelligently and as a team.

Remember, team stands for together everyone accomplishes more.

This is my opinion. What is yours?
