I”m confused. Due to the government shutdown, guards and barriers have been placed around the WWII memorial on the Washington DC Mall to prevent tourists from visiting the site. WWII veterans and their families visiting the memorial were not being allowed to see it. I”ve been to the memorial and it is an open air site with no park personnel required. So, if the government is in shutdown and needing to save money then why is it spending money that it doesn”t have to spend?

Is the real game a political ploy to blame the House of Representatives for the shutdown?

Yeah, that”s the ticket, punish WWII Vets and blame your political opponents. Closing national monuments is an Administration decision, not Congress”s.

I am disgusted with an Administration that would use our national heroes as pawns.
