Close the Wellness Center? Why would any health conscious organization want to do that?
After years of resisting “working out”, my wife finally convinced me that if I wanted to stay active in older age, I needed to do some exercise and weight lifting to maintain adequate muscle and bone.
We tried a couple gyms, but didn”t feel comfortable because the emphasis seemed to be on building muscle to look buff.
Finally we discovered the Sutter Lakeside Hospital Wellness Center. The community feeling there was that, no matter what your ailments, getting up off the couch and doing something was better than staying at home talking about it. It almost became fun to go workout.
Every time we left, we would say to each other, how much better we felt that we had gone there.
I hope the Sutter Lakeside Hospital Board will rethink its decision and find a way to keep the Wellness Center open for the sake of the senior citizens in this community.
