Another year has passed and the Christine Hanson Memorial Scholarship continues to help a college student realize his or her dreams.
The Chris Hanson booth at the Pear Festival is one of the major parts of the fundraising efforts for this scholarship. We would like to thank the many friends who participated in this endeavor. Gracias to Linda Morrison who designed, sewed, and donated the beautiful sunflower raffle quilt, Ann Morrison La Grande, Patsy Manwill, Susan and David Baylis, Siegfried and Christie Otto, Holly Sellers, Magdalena Morris, Nichola Bronk, Joan Cox, Patti Kalis, Nancy Svehla, Dianna Bailey, Roberto and Susan Lozano, Jane Ruggles, Jeannie Wotherspoon, Kim Olson, Denise Ishihara, Sylvia Schnabl, Shelly Werner, Nyla Norris, Deanna Madison, and the Hanson Family.
Special helpers this year were Sophie Sells and Kayla Maines from Kelseyville High School. They were such enthusiastic raffle ticket seller that we were able to improve our funds beyond previous years at the Pear Festival!
In memory of Chris Hanson, a wonderful teacher at the Kelseyville Elementary and Riviera schools, we would like to ask the public to consider volunteering in the classroom. Volunteering is an eye opening experience that will encourage you to applaud your child or grandchild”s teacher. Education needs you.
