LAKEPORT — The Westshore Youth Basketball League (WYBL) will hold sign-ups for the 2014 season Tuesday from 2:30 to 6 p.m. at the entrance to the Terrace Middle School gym in Lakeport.
A final registration date is Saturday at Lakeside Family Fun Center on Lakeport Boulevard in Lakeport from 9 a.m. to11.a.m. Deadline to sign up is Nov. 2.
Boys and girls in grades three through six from throughout Lake County are eligible to register. A parent or guardian must accompany the player and bring a check or cash in the amount of $45 per player. The late sign-up fee is $60 and there are no exceptions.
Volunteer coaches, referees and statskeepers are encouraged to sign up and must have valid identification. WYBL is a non-profit, all-volunteer organization sponsored by local businesses and community members. Sponsor a team for just $225 or be a gold sponsor for $500.
The WYBL is a developmental/recreational league promoting skill building, sportsmanship and team play. Teams are formed in November, practice begins in December and league games are played in January and February 2014 at the Terrace Middle School gym in Lakeport.
