LAKEPORT — Playing their 17th and final game of the season, the Clear Lake Cardinals logged their first win, 4-1 over Technology High School, in non-league varsity boys” soccer action on Tuesday at Lakeport.
“We got our win,” Clear Lake co-coach Shaun Hornby said.
Clear Lake”s Miguel Alvarado had the only goal of the first half. Alejandro Cruz scored twice in the second half for the Cardinals (1-15-1) and Bryce Beare also scored.
Standouts for the Cardinals were Luis Muniz, Juan Mendoza and Esteban Sturr, according to Hornby.

At Lakeport, Clear Lake closed out its regular-season schedule by shutting out Technology High School.
Clear Lake (14-7) will have the remainder of the week off before returning to action next week in the North Coast Section playoffs, the 18th straight year the Lady Cardinals have qualified for the postseason.
Hannah Norwood, Kelcie Reynolds and Mina Werner scored for the Cardinals, who logged their 12th shutout of the season.
Clear Lake led 2-0 after one half.
Jordan Chapin and Adriana Guardado anchored Clear Lake”s defense, according to coach Paul Larrea.
Volleyball
St. Helena def. Clear Lake
At St. Helena, the Clear Lake Cardinal made St. Helena work for it, but the Saints prevailed 25-16, 26-24, 24-26, 25-23 in North Central League I varsity volleyball action.
St. Helena (9-2) trails Kelseyville (10-1) by one game in the league standings. Clear Lake drops to 5-6.
Aliza Atkins powered the Cardinals with 16 kills, nine aces and two blocks. Rachel Wingler added 11 kills and five blocks.
Sonoma Academy def. Upper Lake
At Santa Rosa, Sonoma Academy defeated Upper Lake 25-17, 25-18, 22-25, 25-17 in NCL II volleyball action.
Joleca Augustine led the Cougars in kills with 10 and LaShaye Taylor added nine more. Sierra Fugate had four kills and two aces while Heather Hankins led the team with 20 assists.
Cloverdale def. Lower Lake
At Cloverdale, the Cloverdale Eagles beat the Lower Lake Trojans 25-7, 25-20, 25-15 in NCL I action.
Zobee Miller”s six kills led the Trojans (1-10).
