LAKE COUNTY — The flags of fallen veterans will be displayed at cemeteries throughout Lake County Monday, which is Veterans Day.

Lake County Veterans Memorial ? Avenue of Flags Association with volunteers will install flagpoles and mount large flags along the avenues of county cemeteries.

The flags once draped the casket of fallen veterans. After the internment ceremony, the families are presented the flags. The families then have the option of donating the use of the veterans” burial flag to the association.

On Memorial Day and Veterans Day the flags are flown to honor of veterans.

The event will take place at the following cemeteries: Hartley in Lakeport, Upper Lake, Kelseyville and Lower Lake.

Installation of flagpoles and flags will begin at 7 a.m., weather-permitting. The flags and flagpoles will be taken down at 4 p.m.

Volunteers would be appreciated at all locations.
