CLEARLAKE — The Clearlake Police Department and the California Alcohol Beverage Control (ABC) held a training class on Nov. 11 for businesses licensed to sell alcohol.

Several business owners and their employees attended the Licensee Education on Alcohol and Drugs (LEADS) training, which was voluntary and free-of-charge, according to Sgt. Martin Snyder. The training focused on obligations on serving alcoholic beverages safely, responsibly, legally and preventing illicit drug activity at the licensed establishments.

The training class also covered criminal laws, ABC administrative laws, as well as prevention and education, Snyder stated.
