
LAKEPORT — The Lake County Symphony (LCS) will hold its Mozart Masterpieces concert Sunday at the Soper Reese Community Theatre in Lakeport.
The program will open with the Sinfonia Concertante for Violin and Viola featuring Holly McElroy Fagan on violin and Sienna S”Zell on viola.
S”Zell started her music career in third grade, and has since graduated with a bachelor”s degree and master”s work, to play with orchestras and chamber groups all over the United States.
S”Zell is known in Northern California for her work as a teacher in both public and private schools, most recently at the Ukiah School of Music.
S”Zell will play the viola with violinist Fagan, a graduate of the University of Missouri, Kansas City, Conservatory of Music.
Fagan has been an orchestra member in St. Louis, Detroit, Kansas City and Palo Alto. She has taught music for about 36 years.
The second selection is Mozart”s Violin Concerto No. 4 in D. S”Zell will switch from viola to violin for this piece.
Following intermission the orchestra will play the G Minor Symphony No. 40.
The Lake County Youth Orchestra, under the direction of Susan Condit, will continue the Mozart theme with the composer”s Menuetto and Trio from his Symphony No. 35 ? also known as “Haffner” ? and also “Amadeus,” the music from the movie of the same name, which was derived from Mozart”s Symphony No. 25.
An open rehearsal concert will begin at 11 a.m. with the main event starting at 3 p.m. General admission costs $25 and premium reserved seating costs $30.
Symphony association members are granted $5 discounts. Some season-ticket seats are still available.
