UPPER LAKE — The Mighty Mike Schermer Band will perform at the Blue Monday Party at the Blue Wing Saloon.
The event will be held Monday at 9520 Main St. in Upper Lake, at 6 p.m.
The band mixes elements of rock, swing and “Texi-Cali” sounds.
Schermer makes an annual trip from Austin, Texas to the Bay Area to visit family and friends. During his trip he will play a few shows in support of his new record, “Be Somebody,”
Schermer is a Bay Area resident and has been performing solo for 25 years, playing with artists such as Bonnie Raitt, Elvin Bishop and Howard Tate.
In 2009 Schermer moved to Austin, Texas and joined the touring band of swamp-boogie piano player Marcia Ball.
Recorded in Texas and California with guests performers from both coasts, “Be Somebody” is a mix of styles held together by the musician”s guitar.
Schermer will be joined by a band of Bay Area musciaians including drummer Paul Revelli, bassist Steve Ehrmann and saxophone player Nancy Wright.
Although tips are accepted, the show is free-of-charge. Reservations are suggested.
