
LAKEPORT — Pearl Harbor Survivors Chapter 23 North of Lake and Mendocino counties will observe the 72nd anniversary of the bombing of Pearl Harbor.
The event will take place Dec. 7 at Library Park from 9 to 9:15 a.m.
The event will move from the park to the Lakeport City Council Chambers in City Hall at 9:15 a.m.
Tom Engstrom, who had a career in law enforcement for 37 years, 25 of which were as a police chief, will be the guest speaker at the event.
In 2005, Engstrom retired after serving 11 years as Lakeport Police Chief.
Engstrom was elected to the Lakeport City Council in 2010 and serves as the Mayor of Lakeport.
Military ceremonies will be performed by the Lake County Military Honors Team.
Middletown High School students Hannah Flynn and Asia Firebaugh will sing the National Anthem.
The public is also invited to attend the annual luncheon at Woody”s Caf? Grill and Pub, located at 2555 N. Main St. in Kelseyville.
A tri-tip buffet will be served at noon for a cost of $15.
Reservations for the lunch are requested by Nov. 30.
