KELSEYVILLE — Nick Pfann and Cesar Medina scored 11 points apiece to lead the Kelseyville Knights to a season-opening 59-42 varsity boys” basketball win over Upper Lake on Friday night in Kelseyville.
The Knights (1-0) rallied from a 22-13 first-quarter deficit. Wesley Thaxton led the Cougars (0-2) with 20 points.
In varsity girls” action on Friday, Kelseyville used a 24-point second quarter to beat Upper Lake 47-40 in the season opener for both teams. Riley Goff led the Knights (1-0) with 21 points and Joleca Augustine had 11 points and 10 rebounds for the Cougars (0-1).
The four-game set between the two schools also included junior varsity games, both won by Kelseyville. Hunter Beatty scored 13 points to lead the Kelseyville JV boys to a 70-19 win. Indio Drapeau had 12 points for Upper Lake. In JV girls” action, Kelseyville won 38-15 behind 17 points from Alma Perez.
