LAKE COUNTY — The Lake County Arts Council recently received confirmation from the California Arts Council that it is one of 51 local art agencies to receive funding through the State-Local Partnership Program.

The State-Local Partnership is between the California Arts Council and each participating county”s designated local arts agency, a county arts council or commission.

Grants range from $9,750 to $13,500, with a total program award of $591,422.

“The State-Local Partnership Program is integral to the California Arts Council”s mission of advancing the entire state through the arts and creativity,” Director of the California Arts Council Craig Watson said. “Our local arts agency partners are leaders in local economic development, arts advocacy and community engagement. We are pleased to once again support their important work.”

The State-Local Partnership Program funds operational support, community collaborations, technical assistance, information exchange and leadership development.

Program goals include increasing public awareness and participation in the arts of all cultures, broaden public and private support for the arts, serve the diverse and cultural needs of California”s local communities, encourage and promote arts in education and foster local and regional partnership and collaboration.

“These funds are critical for maintaining both our operational and our programming activities,” Executive Director of the Lake County Arts Council Shelby Posada said. “We are grateful for the many Lake County residents, businesses and government that support our endeavors, such as the Main Street Gallery, the Soper-Reese Community Theatre, the Summer Youth Art Camp and our festivals.”
