COBB — Police are looking for a suspect in an attempted robbery early Tuesday morning in the area of Lema Lane.

Lake County Sheriff”s Office (LCSO) Deputies responded to the attempted robbery just after 3:30 a.m. after the resident, a 69-year-old woman, called 9-1-1, according to LCSO Lt. Steve Brooks.

The woman told deputies that she woke up and walked into the living room, where she noticed her cat was focused on a door, which led to the garage, according to Brooks. She thought her cat”s behavior was out of the ordinary, so she walked toward the door.

Suddenly, the door opened and a man reportedly rushed into her living room, according to Brooks.

The woman described the man, whose face was covered with some type of clothing, as being approximately 5-feet-5-inches tall and of average built, Brooks stated. She added that the suspect reportedly knocked her down and kicked her three or four times.

The suspect then allegedly dragged her into the garage and told her that he was going to tie her hands, according to Brooks. She then began to violently resist the suspects attempt to subdue her. She said she thought the suspect was going to kill her.

The suspect then suddenly walked out of the garage into the living room and exited the home through the front door. The woman said she was able to make her way to the front door and watched the suspect get into the passenger side of a vehicle, which drove away.

She told deputies that she immediately called 9-1-1 after the vehicle left.

The victim was unable to provide any additional identifying information concerning the suspect or the suspect vehicle, Brooks stated.

The investigation is ongoing. Anyone with information about the case is encouraged to call the LCSO at 263-2690.
